Image Extreme provides enhancement software purpose built for the forensic environment. Improving contrast between ridge detail and the background has never been this easy. 

This Software incorporates many functions, such as gamma, contrast and brightness corrections, removal of shades, advanced colour processing, Fast Fourier transform (FFT), geometric transformation, linear and non-linear filters and many more. No image manipulation tools are available (e.g. advanced cloning functions, eraser, and paint brush).

With many one-click features to perform advanced enhancements, thus making it easy for users to obtain high contrast levels even on difficult multi-colour images (e.g. a purple Ninhydrin print on a rough textured brown cardboard box). In addition it has advanced functions such as image rectification (unwarping of a warped image). It has a feature rich and user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) built on top of the latest proven technologies ensuring a very long lifespan.

Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)

Fast Fourier Transform is a mathematical operation that converts an image into its light frequency representation form. This can be used to remove background patterns from an image. In the case of prints that are located on top of each other, it is used to remove the ridges of the print located at the bottom. When the Fourier transform is computed, the resulting image is said to be in the Fourier domain or in the light-frequency domain.

  • Text descriptions or filenames can be added anywhere on images and made permanently            part of the image. It has TWAIN interface capabilities to any TWAIN compatible devices (e.g.            scanners, cameras). Images can be calibrated for printing purposes
